mongodb - handling a few large bson documents in a collection -

i have little more 1 million json documents want insert in mongodb collection. collection stable (no insertion, no deletion) need queried lot. problem 12 of these documents larger 16mb , rejected.

i have looked @ gridfs documentation seems gridfs documents considered binary files can stored chunks not queried. if possible, avoid splitting documents , storing them in separate collections since makes queries unnecessarily complex (i.e., query collections separately , program join between them) in of case - have 12 problematic documents.

is there recommended way deal this? there way relax 16mb limit?
