i try use custome variable in google tag manage in order count how many users saw material.
i have 4 different materials in users come different paths of site. option have separate them using there url because every material in url have format:
example.com/material1 example.com/material2 example.com/material3 example.com/material4 what datalayer should use in order have 1 variable named material have 4 different values based on previous links?
if information in url not need datalayer variable @ all. go "variable" in menu , in "pages" section tick box in front of "page path". have {{page path}} variable available examples contain /material1, /material2 etc.
if want total of material views in google analytics can either filter pages report "path contains material" , aggregate number, or can create custom metric incremented every time page path contains /material.
